As an American I have been unfortunately conditioned to believe a few things: Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sunday, if The Waffle House is closed there’s a storm acomin’ and that bad and expensive food is served at mall food courts. While those first two don’t hold much weight in Thailand that last one couldn’t be more wrong. One of my favorite bowls of noodles, bah mi gai tom yum, comes from the top floor foodcourt noodle stall, furthest to the left, in Pantip Plaza on Changklang Road.
The chicken is fall of the bone, the selection of garnishes is top tier (hence the mound of fresh herbs), and the generic jar of tom yum paste used to make this a “tom yum noodles” suits the flavor of the broth nicely.
Price: 40 baht (ask to make it tom yum or it’ll come without the chili paste.)
