The กะหรี่ปั๊บ (curry puff) is one of the finest examples of good things coming in small packages. Flakey edges, warm fillings, all wrapped in a small paper square that will be transparent from grease by the first bite, these are what make a good curry puff.
When I have a craving for these I go to Siri Wattana market or Mae Hia market. You can find these all over Chiang Mai, but these two places do them more consistently well than any others I’ve had here.
They are usually sold in three varieties: Chicken (more like chicken flavored mashed potatoes), taro, and yellow bean. Yellow bean is my favorite, but they are all really quite good.
7 baht per puff.
